A Call To My Lord

 I call on you by your Beneficence,

And your Magnificence.
By your Brilliance,
And your Radiance.

I call on you by your Cosmic Sight,
And your unparalleled Might.
By your Eternal Light,
And your unquestionable Right.

Lord, I have no words, yet you allow speech.
No discipline, yet you teach.
In the blue ocean, or the dark night sky,
Find you, what direction do I reach?

You are the pinnacle of my desire,
You preach, the path to go higher,
You help, when everything is dire,
My lord, my lord, save me from the fire.

I ask with humility,
Understanding divinity,
Grant this ummah peace,
And bless them with serenity.

I beg you, forgive my oversight,
For pride has blinded my insight.
I am a humble servant, tiny parasite.
Ya Allah, Guide me to the path right,
Through the Household's (a.s.) light.

Fulfil my wishes, my status elevate.
My lord, improve my destined fate,
For you, Make my love great.
And purify my imperfect state.
